White Painting, 3x4x5 metres
Francisca Aninat
Francisca Aninat
Francisca Aninat works in canvas, painting, tearing and then re-stitching the pieces back together so that fragments of canvas make up a whole large canvas. Francesca Aninat's work is very subtle and brings to mind Clement Greenberg's theories abstract painting; stripping canvas to its parts - raw canvas surface and paint. Originally from Chile, Francesca Aninat graduated from Central St Martins in 2007. In 2008 Aninat will have two solo exhibitions, one in Chile and one at ROLLO. Aninat's works are typically wall and floor pieces approximately 1 - 2 metres in size, however she also creates smaller 'folded paintings' and has created installations of her canvases staking her fragmented paintings on top of each other until they reached over 3 metres high.
