Paula Rae Gibson

Paula Rae Gibson

Paula Rae Gibson has internationally exhibited her black and white one off photographs, which typically focus on the female body and are inscribed with provocative hand written texts, communicating her personal experiences of love, desire and at times mourning.

Gibson chemically treats and deliberately damages her prints whilst developing them, sometimes destroying the negative completely in the process - meaning that every print is unique. The resulting images are ephemeral and laced with a surrealist edge.

Gibson has published two books of her photography, the award winning 'Diary of A Love Addict' and 'I'll Always Walk Away', available to buy at ROLLO. She has also produced art films, What Are You Doing Forever, which have been shown at international film festivals and is a recording Jazz singer, with one album released 'No More Tiptoes' and another on the way. Her Music can be heard at www.myspace.com/paularaegibson and www.babellabel.co.uk/paularaegibson.htm Gibson's photographs were displayed in ROLLO Contemporary Art's PREVIEW 08 exhibition and a solo show 'MAYBE TOO NUDE' will open at ROLLO in April 2008.
